  • Buzzard Lake is located south of Apsley on the west side of Highway 28 in Peterborough County
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 40′ Long. 78° 13′
  • Buzzard Lake sits inside the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park
  • access to the lake is via a canoe portage from Long Lake which has a public boat launch on the east side. Follow Long Lake Road (off of Hwy. 28) for 2 km. to the launch
  • the lake reaches maximum depths of 120′ in the north basin and 70′ in the southern one
  • several public campsites are located along the shoreline
  • watch for submerged logs and stumps in the shallows. Rocky shorelines can be found throughout
  • major fish species include lake trout, small and largemouth bass
  • Buzzard Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 15
