  • co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 49′ 30″ Long. 77° 58′ 43″
  • a number of creeks flow into the lake and the Deer River exits the lake on the north end
  • while the lake reaches maximum depths of 157′, the average depth is 43′
  • the surface area is 1,387 hectares
  • the perimeter is 50.4 km. (31.5 miles)
  • the lake has an irregular shape with lots of bays, points, tapering as well as quick drop offs, islands, narrows, underwater humps, shoals, stretches of rocky rubble shoreline and weeds in the shallows
  • one public boat launch is located on the north end off of Hwy. 620 and another is along McCauley’s Road at South Bay
  • Chandos Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 15
