Major Lake Species:  Walleye, Northern Pike, Whitefish

  • Ogoki Lake is a fly-in lake located north of the town of Nakina in the Thunder Bay District
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 50° 50′ 10″ Long. 87° 10′ 14″
  • the lake is part of the Ogoki River system which flows into the lake on the west side and exits on the northeast
  • while the lake reaches depths of over 40′, the average depth is only 12′-15′
  • it has a surface area of 6,477 hectares (16,000 acres)
  • while the lake contains a number of islands, shoals and points, it also has weedy areas on the west and south ends and the shoreline is irregular with many rock rubble sections.
  • major fish species include walleye, northern pike and whitefish
  • Ogoki Lake is situated within Fisheries Management Zone 2
