Lake Facts:
Elephant Lake is located just north of the village of Harcourt, Ontario in Haliburton County
co-ordinates: Lat. 45° 07′ 50″ Long. 78° 07′ 55″
Elephant Lake is part of a tri-lakes system which also includes Baptiste and Benoir Lake
at the north end of the lake your can boat along the York River into Benoir Lake or follow a channel (known as the Ripples) eastward into Baptiste Lake
overall the lake is shallow with extensive weed flats consisting of milfoil and cabbage. The deepest area reaches 25′
there are several resorts on the lake with private boat launches. You can boat into Elephant Lake from Baptiste Lake of the east which has a couple of public boat launches
northern pike predominate over what was once a thriving population of muskie
Elephant Lake lies within the boundaries of Fisheries Management Zone 15
