  • Canonto Lake is located along Canonto Road just northeast of the town of Ompah Ontario in Frontenac county
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 45° 03′ 22″ Long. 76° 47′ 39″
  • water flows from Palmerston Lake to the south end of Canonto. It exits on the northeast end via the Canonto Lake Dam
  • while the lake reaches depths of 70′, the average depth is 12′
  • the perimeter of the lake is 14.5 km (9.1 miles)
  • this clear water spring fed lake has a lot of good fish holding cover in the shallows(cattails, lily pad beds, stumps and submerged logs)
  • there are many rock rubble shoreline stretches that are visited by smallmouth bass and walleye
  • a public boat launch is located at the Canonto Lake Dam
  • the major fish species include smallmouth bass, pike, walleye, a few lake trout and bluegill
