  • Heart Lake is located at the north end of the city of Brampton Ontario in the Region of Peel
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 43° 44′ Long. 79° 47′
  • Heart Lake is a kettle lake which was formed by retreating glaciers of the last ice age in southern Ontario
  • it is part of the Etobicoke Creek watershed
  • the lake reaches maximum depths of 10.7 metres (35′)
  • sections of the shoreline have been graded to slope more naturally. Stone and sand substrate material has been placed on the slopes allowing for new plant growth. Shoals suitable for bass spawning sites have also been created
    weeds and logs can be found in some of the shallows
  • the lake has been regularly stocked with rainbow trout
  • Heart Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 16
