Lake Facts:

  • Tea Lake is located off of County Road 17 (Upper Big Chute Road) northeast of Port Severn in the Simcoe District
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 52′ 23″ Long. 79° 38′ 58″
  • Tea Creek flows into the lake on the south end and exits the lake on the north end flowing into the Severn River
  • the perimeter of the lake is 11.3 km (7.1 miles)
  • while the lake reaches depths of 50′, the average depth is 13′
  • the southern half of the lake offers good trolling runs for walleye and smallmouth bass. Work the points and narrows slowly
  • weedy areas around the creek inflows are good for largemouth bass and pike as well as walleye early in the season
  • a public boat launch is located about 1 km east of Big Chute on the north end of the lake
  • Tea Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 16
