Lake Facts

• Wahwashkesh Lake is located west of the village of Dunchurch along Hwy. 520 in the Parry Sound District
• co-ordinates: Lat. 45° 43′ 04″ Long. 80° 02′ 23″
• Wahwashkesh Lake is a huge sprawling lake consisting of a north and south sections connected by the Indian Narrows. The Magnetawan River flows through the North Lake on its east and west sides on its way to Georgian Bay. The Whitestone River flows into the South Lake on the east side
• the basins of both sections have irregular shorelines with many islands, bays and backbays, points, shoals, underwater humps, saddles, narrows, drop offs and rocky shorelines
• maximum depths reach 140’+ in both sections of the lake
• a public boat launch is located at the end of Wahwashkesh Road at Indian Narrows. You can boat into either section of the lake from here
• the lake is a sanctuary area for part of the year. Check the Recreational Fishing Regulations Summary for exact dates
• Wahwashkesh Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 15
