Lake Facts:

• Thunder Lake is located along the north side of Trans Canada Hwy 17 approx. 11 km. east of the town of Dryden in Northwestern Ontario
• co-ordinates: Lat. 49° 46′ 43″ Long. 93° 39′ 47″
• Thunder Lake is the product of retreating glaciers which covered the region thousands of years ago
• while the lake reaches maximum depths of 23.5 m (77′), the average depth is 11.1 m (36′). the surface area is 1123 hectares (2773 acres)
• about a dozen small islands as well as rock outcroppings, bays, points and a couple of sandy beaches are located along the lake’s perimeter
• a public boat launch is located within the boundaries of Aaron Provincial Park situated on the south side of the lake
• Thunder Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 5
