• Little Vermilion Lake is located along Hwy. 72 southwest of the village of Sioux Lookout – northwestern Ontario in the Kenora District
• co-ordinates: Lat. 50° 00′ Long. 92° 11′
• while the lake reaches depths of 79′, the average depth is 31′
• the perimeter of the lake is 85 km. (52 miles)
• the lake is spring fed. Rock rubble shorelines are densely wooded with overhanging trees and submerged logs in the shallows. Weed beds and pencil reeds can be found in many of the shallower bays
• reefs, shoals, neck downs, narrows, channels, points, fast breaking drop offs and flats provide great fish holding structure
• water flows out of the lake on the north side via the Twin Falls rapids into Vermilion Lake
• a public boat launch can be found on the south side of the lake within Ojibway Provincial Park
• major fish species include smallmouth bass, lake trout, northern pike and muskie
• Little Vermilion Lake is situated within Fisheries Management Zone 4
