Talon Lake is located on the north side of Hwy.17 between North Bay to the west and Mattawa to the east in the District of Nipissing
co-ordinates: Lat. 46° 18′ 16″ Long. 79° 03′ 22″
the lake is part of the Nipissing Voyageur Passageway (which consists of the French River, Lake Nipissing and the Mattawa River)
the lake offers a wide variety of structure and cover including the inflow areas of creeks and rivers, mid lake shoals, shallow weedy bays, points, island and mainland shoreline trolling stretches as well as sandy and rocky areas
while the lake reaches depths of 197′, the average depth is 42′
the perimeter of the lake is 60.5 km (37 miles)
the surface area of the lake is 1,403 hectares (3,469 acres)
a public boat launch is located on the south end of the lake at Blanchard’s Landing
Talon Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 11
