Lake Facts:

• South Bay is located on the southeast side of Lake Nipissing and is the largest bay on the lake
• the bay has a fantastic array of fish holding structure and cover including rock rubble shorelines, reefs, rock piles, islands, channels and narrows, bays and coves, extensive weed beds (emerging and submerged). The bay is the largest wind protected area on the lake
  a sanctuary area has been established where the South River enters the bay
• like Callander Bay, South Bay is a popular ice fishing destination with walleye, pike, perch and herring the usual targets
• like walleye, muskie will move to deeper waters come mid summer
• major fish species include walleye, muskie, pike, large and smallmouth bass, perch, herring and whitefish
• South Bay is located within Fisheries Management Zone 11
