Lake Facts:

  • Red Squirrel Lake is located northeast of the town of Temagami and just east of the North Arm of Lake Temagami in the District of Nipissing
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 47° 09′ 37″ Long. 80° 01′ 26″
  • the Anima Nipissing River flows into the lake on the east side of the lake
  • while the lake reaches maximum depths of 110′, the average depth is 37′
  • the perimeter of the lake is 21 km (13 miles)
  • there are a number of campsites available along the lake shoreline
  • a spring sanctuary area exists at the Anima Nipissing River inflow
  • there is a public boat launch at the north end of the lake. Access is also available via a 795 metre portage from Ferguson Bay on Lake Temagami
  • Red Squirrel Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 11
