Lake Facts:

• Red Cedar Lake is located west of the village of Marten River in the District of Nipissing
• co-ordinates: Lat. 46° 42′ 45″ Long. 79° 56′ 13″
• this irregular shaped lake consists of several sections connected by narrows. The lake was dammed in 1964 on the southwest side where the water flows into Thistle Lake. There is a great variety of structure including shoals, humps, points, channels and narrows, islands, flats and drop offs. There is a lot of submerged timber as well. Walleye and smallmouth bass are often found in the same areas especially during the summer
• wherever a creek enters the lake and weed is present, pike will be as well. Look for walleye at these inflow areas at the beginning of the open season
• while the lake reaches maximum depths of 114′, the average depth is 19′
• the perimeter of the lake is 133 km (82 miles)
• the surface area is 2,421 hectares (5,984 acres)
• there is a public boat launch located off of Hwy. 64 at Loon Bay
• Red Cedar Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 11
