  • the lake sits beside the Marten River Provincial Park
  • Marten Lake is a typical deep, clear and cold water Canadian Shield lake. It is part of the Marten River system which also includes such well known lakes as Red Cedar and Wicksteed Lake
  • while the lake reaches maximum depths of 155′, the average depth is 37′
  • the lake has a perimeter of 51 km (32 miles) and it is approx. 21 km (13 miles) long
  • the narrows, points, underwater humps and rocky shorelines are popular walleye fishing areas
  • there is a public boat launch in the provincial park
