the lake sits beside the Marten River Provincial Park
Marten Lake is a typical deep, clear and cold water Canadian Shield lake. It is part of the Marten River system which also includes such well known lakes as Red Cedar and Wicksteed Lake
while the lake reaches maximum depths of 155′, the average depth is 37′
the lake has a perimeter of 51 km (32 miles) and it is approx. 21 km (13 miles) long
the narrows, points, underwater humps and rocky shorelines are popular walleye fishing areas
there is a public boat launch in the provincial park
Marten Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 11
