• Lake Manitou is the largest lake on Manitoulin Island
• while the lake reaches maximum depths of 161′, the average depth is 49′
• the perimeter of the lake is 100 km (62 miles)
• the surface area is 10,460 hectares(25,848 acres)
• the lake has limestone bedrock and is spring fed. Its clear waters drive fish slightly deeper than one might expect
• there is a good public boat launch located at Sanfield which is found on the southeast end of the lake along Hwy. 542
• the fishing regulations of Fisheries Management Zone 10 apply to Lake Manitou
