Lake Facts:

  • Lake Kagawong is located 48 km west of the town of Little Current on Manitoulin Island
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 45° 49′ 45″ Long. 82° 18′ 20″
  • Lake Kagawong is the second largest lake on Manitoulin Island. The Kagawong River exits the lake on the north end
  • while the lake reaches maximum depths of 110′, the average depth is 36′
  • the perimeter of the lake is 61 km (37.9 miles)
  • the surface area of the lake is 5,555 hectares (13,728 acres)
  • this moderately fertile favours a warm water fishery. It is especially noted for its bass and perch fishing
  • there are two public boat launches. One is located on the north end backing into the Kagawong River. The other is located on the south end off of Perivale Road backing into Spring Bay
  • the fishing regulations of Fisheries Management Zone 10 apply to Lake Kagawong
