Major Lake Species:  Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Whitefish, and Yellow Perch

Lake Facts:

• Lady Evelyn Lake is located approx. 40 km northwest of the town of Temagami in the District of Timiskaming
• co-ordinates: Lat. 47° 18′ 34″ Long. 80° 11′ 45″
• Lady Evelyn Lake was created as a result of the damming of the Montreal River
• the overall perimeter of the lake is 204 km (127 miles)
• the surface area of the lake is 6,263 hectares (15,476 acres)
• the lake consists of two distinct sections connected by the Obisaga Narrow
• the northeast basin is the shallower of the two. There are extensive shallow sandy flats and bars, eskers, flooded timber, weedbeds and many islands. The deeper areas (50′-60′) can be found in several of the narrows. This section of the lake is well suited to walleye and smallmouth bass that often frequent the same areas. Look for pike in and around many of the basins’ weed beds. Try the deeper channel areas in the summer for walleye
• a public access point is located at Mowat’s Landing which is located at the end of Hwy. 558. You will have to portage around the power dam to the Lady Evelyn River. Follow the river southwest to the lake
