Lake Facts:

  • Kanichee Lake is located on the west side of Hwy. 11 just north of the town of Temagami in the District of Nipissing
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 47° 07′ Long. 79° 50′
  • the perimeter of the lake is approx. 19 km (12 miles)
  • the lake reaches maximum depths of 100’+
  • during the summer focus on the deeper sections of the central part of the lake for lake trout
  • rocky rubble shorelines especially around points and islands as well as areas holding submerged logs provide good cover for bass and pike
    at the start of the season look for walleye at inflowing stream areas as well as nearby points, humps and narrows
  • you can access Kanichee Lake by means of a 100 metre portage from Net Lake at Kanichee Creek (which is located approx. 2 km northwest of the Net Lake Bridge)
  • the major fish species include lake trout, smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike and whitefish
  • Fisheries Management Zone 11 regulations apply to Kanichee Lake
