  • Chiblow Lake is located 20 km north of the town of Blind River in the District of Algoma
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 46° 20′ 37″ Long. 83° 02′ 57″
  • water flows into the lake on the west end from Little Chiblow Lake and the east end via the Blind River
  • water exits the lake on the south end via the Chiblow Lake Dam
  • the lake has a perimeter of 39 km (24.4 miles)
  • while the lake reaches depths of 230′, the average depth is 70′
  • limestone veins run underneath the lake and act as a natural buffer to counter the effects of acid rain (which constitute a threat to lake trout)
  • the major fish species include lake trout, walleye, smallmouth bass, whitefish, cisco, and yellow perch
