Major Lake Species:   Lake Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Walleye

Lake Facts:

  • Trout Lake is located on the south side of Hwy. 60 just west of Barry’s Bay Ontario in Renfrew County
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 45° 29′ 33″ Long. 77° 44′ 30″
  • water flows into the lake on the north end (from Carson Lake) and exits the lake via a creek on the south end
  • the lake reaches depths of 140’+
  • pencil reeds can be found in near shore areas along with some lily pads
  • there are a few sandy stretches along the tree lined shore and soft bottomed points. Look for areas of rock rubble adjacent to sandy areas. These transition zones often extend into deeper water and are fish magnets
  • there are no public boat launches on the lake. A private resort located just off Hwy. 60 has a pay for use launch
  • major fish species include lake trout , smallmouth bass and a small population of walleye has established itself over the past few years
  • Trout Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 15
