  • Norcan Lake is located in north Frontenac County
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 45° 09′ 41″ Long. 76° 52′ 00″
  • Norcan Lake is relatively shallow with the maximum depth reaching 15′ (4.6 metres). It is part of the Madawaska River drainage system
    the inshore areas are littered with submerged logs and stumps. There are extensive grass beds as well. This type of habitat favours largemouth bass and pike
  • walleye spawn below the sluice gate of the Mountain Chute Dam and these fish can be found in the deeper waters of the Madawaska River and the lake’s north end when the season opens
  • there is a sanctuary area for a period in the spring at the Mountain Chute Hydro Dam area
  • Norcan Lake is located in Fisheries Management Zone 15
