Lake Facts:

  • Little Esson Lake is located off of County Road 4 (Essonville Road) west of Wilberforce Ontario in Haliburton County
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 45° 02′ Long. 78° 16′
  • water flows out of the lake on the west end on its way to Esson Lake
  • the perimeter of the lake is 6 km (3.8 miles)
  • while the lake reaches maximum depths of 56′, the average depth is 17′
  • there are shallow areas on the east and west end that contain lily pads and reed beds. The shoreline has overhanging trees and submerged logs which can hold rainbow trout in the winter time. Smallmouth bass can be found around the lake’s points, islands and rocky rubble areas
  • a public boat launch is located at the end of Lane 1401 on the east side of the lake
  • Little Esson Lake is situated within the boundaries of Fisheries Management Zone 15
