  • Fishtail Lake is located off of County Road 10 (Elephant Lake Road) north of Harcourt Ontario in Haliburton County
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 45° 09′ Long. 78° 12′
  • this deep clear water Canadian shield lake supports a cold water fishery
  • Allen Creek flows into the lake on the southwest end and exits on the northeast
  • the perimeter of the lake is 11.6 km (7.3 miles)
  • while the lake reaches depths of 132′, the average depth is 59′
  • there are a number of deep underwater humps in the main lake which hold lake trout
  • there is a lot of good cover and structure including submerged logs and stumps, points, shoals, rocky shoreline that hold smallmouth bass
  • a boat launch is located at the end of Fishtail Lake Road
  • major fish species include lake trout, smallmouth bass and yellow perch
