  • Mephisto Lake is located along Egan Creek Road north of Gunter Ontario in Hastings County
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 55′ 49″ Long. 77° 34′ 37″
  • five creeks flow into the lake. Beaver Creek exits the lake on the south end and flows to Limerick Lake
  • the lake reaches maximum depths of 137′
  • there are several shallow weedy bays with submerged logs which provide a good habitat for largemouth bass. Points, drop offs, shoals and rocky shorelines attract smallmouth bass. The lake has a naturally reproducing lake trout population. Most of the fishing occurs during the ice fishing period and the first month after ice out
  • there are some crown land campsites around the lake
  • a rough public boat launch is located on the north end at the end of Mephisto Lake Landing Road
  • Mephisto Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 15
