Lake Facts:
Mephisto Lake is located along Egan Creek Road north of Gunter Ontario in Hastings County
co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 55′ 49″ Long. 77° 34′ 37″
five creeks flow into the lake. Beaver Creek exits the lake on the south end and flows to Limerick Lake
the lake reaches maximum depths of 137′
there are several shallow weedy bays with submerged logs which provide a good habitat for largemouth bass. Points, drop offs, shoals and rocky shorelines attract smallmouth bass. The lake has a naturally reproducing lake trout population. Most of the fishing occurs during the ice fishing period and the first month after ice out
there are some crown land campsites around the lake
a rough public boat launch is located on the north end at the end of Mephisto Lake Landing Road
