Lake Facts:
Buzzard Lake is located south of Apsley on the west side of Highway 28 in Peterborough County
co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 40′ Long. 78° 13′
Buzzard Lake sits inside the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park
access to the lake is via a canoe portage from Long Lake which has a public boat launch on the east side. Follow Long Lake Road (off of Hwy. 28) for 2 km. to the launch
the lake reaches maximum depths of 120′ in the north basin and 70′ in the southern one
several public campsites are located along the shoreline
watch for submerged logs and stumps in the shallows. Rocky shorelines can be found throughout
major fish species include lake trout, small and largemouth bass
Buzzard Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 15
