Belmont lake is located in the municipality of Have-lock-Belmont-Methuem, Peterborough County in Central Ontario. The lake is known particularly for its muskie, largemouth bass and smallmouth bass fishing, however, the population of muskie appears to have declined over the past few years  with the emergence of northern pike on the lake.    The lake holds a diverse species of fish.

• Belmont Lake is located north of Hwy. 7 near Havelock Ontario in Peterborough County
• the Crowe River enters the lake on the north end and exits on the east side on its way to Crowe Lake. The North River enters the lake on the west side flowing in from Round Lake
• water levels are regulated by the Crowe Valley Conservation Authority. A drawdown occurs in the fall
• this moderately fertile lake reaches maximum depths of 50’+
• the lake provides a variety of cover and structure including weed beds, flats, drop offs, points, shoals , islands, soft and hard bottom areas etc.
• Belmont Lake is situated within Fisheries Management Zone 17
