Lake Facts:

  • Wolfe Lake is located on the north side of County Road 8 (Westport Road) 10 km. west of Westport Ontario. The lake straddles the Frontenac County and the County of Leeds and Grenville boundary
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 40′ 57″ Long. 76° 28′ 42″
  • while the lake reaches maximum depths of 102′, the average depth is 34′
  • the surface area of the lake is 954 hectares (2,358 acres)
  • the perimeter of the lake is approx. 30 km (18.7 miles)
  • smallmouth bass and walleye can be found along the rock rubble shorelines, points, humps and shoals. The walleye population has declined over the years.
  • Fish the shallower bays for largemouth bass and pike. Look for larger pike hanging around the deeper humps and shoreline dropoffs in the warmer summer months
  • a public boat launch is located beside the causeway at the south end of the lake along County Road 8
  • the major fish species include northern pike, large and smallmouth bass, walleye, yellow perch and whitefish
  • Wolfe Lake is situated within Fisheries Management Zone 18
