South Lake is located on the west side of County Road 32 north of the town of Gananoque Ontario in Frontenac County
co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 26′ 03″ Long. 76° 13′ 17″
while the lake reaches maximum depths of 48′, the average depth is 17.5′
the perimeter of the lake is 10.8 km (6.8 miles)
the surface area of the lake is 219 hectares (543 acres)
the lake favours a warm water fishery. Fish the mouths of inflowing creeks and weed beds on the east and west ends of the lake for largemouth bass and pike.
Try the mid lake island shorelines and drop offs as well as the south shore line for smallmouth bass
there is a private sand/gravel based launch on the east side of the lake where County Road 32 crosses South Lake Creek
South Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 18
