Lake Facts:
Sand Lake is located on the west side of the town of Westport Ontario in the County of Leeds and Grenville
co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 41′ Long. 76° 26′
water flows into the lake on the west side via the Wolfe Lake Dam. Several other creeks flow into the lake as well. Water exits the lake at the east end Sand Lake Dam and flows into Upper Rideau Lake
the lake consists of a single basin with the north shore dropping off to deeper water more quickly than the south shore. The near shore areas on the north side contains submerged logs and rock rubble whereas the south side has more weedbeds and cattail
while the lake reaches maximum depths of 50′, the average depth is 22′
the surface area is 156 hectares (514 acres)
there is a concrete boat ramp at the Westport Lions Club Beach Park on the east end of the lake
Sand (Westport) Lake is situated within Fisheries Management Zone 18
