Lake Facts:
Sand Lake is located off of County Road 15 at Jones Falls in the County of Leeds and Grenville
co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 36′ Long. 76° 20′
Sand Lake is part of the Rideau Canal Waterway. It connects to Opinicon Lake on the northwest side via the Davis Lock. On the southeast side it connects to Whitefish Lake via Jones Lock
this irregular shaped lake has a perimeter of 51.5 km (32 miles)
the surface area is 828 hectares (2,046 acres)
while the lake reaches depths of 47′, the average depth is 15′
there are a number of shallow weedy bays offering prime habitat for largemouth bass and pike. Mid lake humps and shoals, islands and points offer good smallmouth bass holding structure
there is a sanctuary at Freeman’s Bay
there is a small paved boat launch off of Glover Road
