Lake Facts:

• the northeast end of Lower Rideau Lake sits beside Smiths Falls Ontario in the County of Leeds and Grenville. The west end of the lake starts at Rideau Ferry
• co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 51′ 58″ Long. 76° 07′ 08″
• Lower Rideau Lake is the last lake on the Rideau River/Canal system on its way to Ottawa
• the Tay River flows into the lake on the north side south of Port Elmsley
• the deepest part of the lake reaches 59′ and that depth is in the channel just east of Rideau Ferry. The channel which runs all the way to Smiths Falls is fairly shallow as is the rest of the lake
• Lower Rideau Lake has a lot of cover including milfoil, cabbage and lily pad beds as well as submerged logs and stumps
• this warm water fishery includes large and smallmouth bass, pike, perch, black crappie and bluegill
• there are several public boat launches on the lake. One is located adjacent to the lock at the Tay Canal. Another is located beside the lock at the end of Poonamalie Road. A third launch is located off of Yacht Club Road near the village of Rideau Ferry
• Lower Rideau Lake is situated within Fisheries Management Zone 18
