  • Howes Lake is located on the east side of Hwy. 38 just north of Verona Ontario in Frontenac County
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 30′ Long. 76° 41′
  • water flows out of the lake on the south end to Verona Lake
  • the lake reaches maximum depths of 39′
  • the lake gets quite weedy in the summer which provides good cover for largemouth bass and pike
  • the lake has been stocked in the past with walleye by a dedicated group of local volunteers
  • search for walleye and smallmouth bass around the points, shoals, rocky shorelines and deep weed lines adjacent to deeper water
  • access to the lake is from a public boat launch on Verona Lake. A creek which connects the two lakes is navigable during high water periods
  • Howes Lake is located within fisheries Management Zone 18
