Lake Facts:

• Clayton Lake is located at the village of Clayton in Lanark County
• co-ordinates: Lat. 45° 10′ 39″ Long. 76° 20′ 45″
• the Indian River enters the lake on the northwest side and exits on the northeast via a dam at the village of Clayton. A narrows on the south end connects to Taylor Lake
• while the lake reaches maximum depths of 35′, overall it is very shallow with lots of islands, cattail banks, weed beds, lily pad beds, submerged logs and stumps.
• This type of habitat holds both northern pike and largemouth bass
  look for walleye and smallmouth bass in the deeper area of the lake around the shoals and deep weedlines
• a concrete public boat launch is located on the east side of the bridge that crosses the Indian River at the village of Clayton
• Clayton Lake is situated within Fisheries Management Zone 18
