  • West Lake is located next to the town of Wellington, Ontario in Prince Edward County
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 43° 56′ 24 Long. 77° 17′ 12″
  • the lake is connected to Lake Ontario via a small channel on the northwest end of the lake
  • Sandbanks Provincial Park runs all along the west side of the lake
  • this shallow warm water lake is high in nutruient content
  • maximum depths reach 25′
  • there are several long points, sandy shorelines, lily pad and weedy areas especially on the east side
  • Wellington is a salmon stocking site and these fish will move into the lake in the fall
  • West Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 20
