Lake Facts:

  • Shabomeka Lake (also known as Buck Lake) is located along Shabomeka Lake Road northeast of the village of Cloyne in Frontenac County
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 53′ 33″ Long. 77° 08′ 09″
  • 8 streams flow into the lake. Kishkebus Lake (located within Bon Echo Park) flows into the lake via a narrows on the northwest side. Water exits the lake via a dam on the south west side
  • the perimeter of the lake is13.6 km (8.5 miles)
  • while the lake reaches depths of 105′, the average depth is 40′
  • lake trout have been regularly stocked
  • there are lots of submerged logs along the rubble shorelines providing good cover for bass
  • points, underwater humps and shoals are home to smallmouth bass. The deeper waters adjacent to this type of structure will hold lake trout
  • a sand gravel based public boat launch is located off of Higgins Lake on the south end of the lake
  • Shabomeka Lake is situated within Fisheries Management Zone 18
