Lake Facts:

• the Bay of Quinte is located along Hwy. 401 approx. a two hour drive east of Toronto. The highway runs along the north shore of the bay. Much of the bay is situated within Prince Edward County. Water exits the bay into Lake Ontario via the Adolpus Reach (a late fall walleye hot spot)
• 4 major towns (Trenton, Belleville, Deseronto and Napanee) along the north shore all provide good public boat launches and shore fishing areas
• 4 major rivers flow into the lake: The Trent River (at Trenton), the Moira River (at Belleville), the
• Salmon River (at the Tyendinaga I.R.) and the Napanee River (at Napanee)
• the bay has a reputation as one of the best trophy walleye destinations in North America. It is host to the Walleye World Live Release tournament every spring during the openning weekend
  during the 1990’s the introduction of zebra mussels had the effect of clearing up the water. This led to increased growth of deeper aquatic vegetation. The bass population exploded. A quality fishery remains to this day
• the variety in structure and cover is endless. It ranges from shallow weedy bays, under cut cat tail banks, flats, overhanging trees, docks and piers, rock rubble shorelines, points, shoals, narrows, deep water drop offs and more
• major fish species include walleye, large and smallmouth bass, muskie, pike, perch crappie, carp and channel catfish
• the Bay of Quinte is within the boundaries of Fisheries Management Zone 20
