Lake Facts:

• Lake Travers is located in the northeastern portion of Algonquin Provincial Park
• co-ordinates: Lat. 45° 58′ Long. 78° 03′
• access to the lake is via the Sand Lake gate on the east side of the park. Follow the main road from there for 54 km. to the access point on the southwest tip of the lake
• the lake is part of the Petawawa River system which enters the lake on the southwest end of the lake and exits the northeast end
• while the maximum depth is 33′, the average depth is 11′
• the perimeter of the lake is 27 km (16.9 miles)
• the surface area is 608 hectares (1,503 acres)
• look for bass along the rocky shorelines, shoals and points. The northern half of the lake is set up nicely for walleye and muskie trolling runs. Be sure to fish the deeper holes and shoal drop offs. The river inflow is a productive walleye area at the start of the season
• Lake Travers is situated within Fisheries Management Zone 15
